Straight from our archives: Joe Kleinerman sorting through New York City Marathon applications. Kleinerman, a founding member of NYRR who passed away in 2003 at age 91, was a dedicated runner (placing 10th in the 1941 and 1942 Boston Marathons in a career in which he ran in over 500 races), a longtime coach of Millrose Athletic Association, and administrator of the sport. Let’s celebrate #JoeKleinerman in this new year and #ResolveToRun to honor his dedication and keep his spirit alive.
