🧪 Dr. Melissa Puppa, assistant professor of Exercise, Sport & Movement Sciences (ESMS), treated her Integrative Muscle and Metabolism lab students to a day out and lunch to thank them for all their hard work.
GA Jason Lin graduated with his master's in ESMS, senior interns Noah Wallace and Nick Earnest graduated with a bachelor's in ESMS, and GA Zereque Powell joined the lab this year as an ESMS master's student and will continue with the lab this fall.
• Jason worked on a variety of projects, one focusing on the role of circadian dysfunction in the progression of cancer cachexia.
• Jason and Nick looked at the role of plant based fats on health span in the drosophila model.
• Zereque and Noah headed up a large study looking at sex differences in diet induced obesity and metabolic syndrome.
• Noah is starting his PhD in our new Applied Physiology & Neuromechanics doctoral program this fall.
