🎓 Senior Spotlight 🎓 Christian Whitworth / Health Sciences⁣ ⁣ “My name is Christian Whitworth and I am a non-traditional and first generation student, I’m the first in my family on both sides to graduate from college but also from high school and at 28 I’m just now graduating. My hopes are to apply to UTHSC and attend their Physicians Assistant program where I’d like to specialize in Interventional Cardiology or Cardiothoracic Surgery.⁣ ⁣ But I want all other students who are like me to know, it’s ok to start later than others, it’s ok to be the ‘old’ student, but most of all it’s ok to ask for help. I learned that lesson the hard way and I grew from it but it made things a bit harder. Make sure you have a good support system, that is the most crucial thing. Because family and significant others aren’t always supportive and I’ve experienced it first hand, but don’t let their negativity bring you down or lead you to think it’s not worth it to finish and achieve your goal.
