The College of Health Sciences, led by the efforts of instructor/coordinator Debra Wyatt, was awarded $10,000 from BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Community Trust for our drowning prevention program. 🏊‍♀️⁣ ⁣ This award enables the continuation of free AHA BLS certifications and allows for the expansion of the program to provide free ARC lifeguard training and certification, which will also provide students with a marketable skill for employment.⁣ ⁣ The award will help us address the nationwide shortage of lifeguards, which is fundamental in preventing death due to drownings.
