joelkowalski is the reason I got into kayaking. He taught me a ton, we have had many wild adventures on the river over the past 11 years. He was my best man at my wedding and he was in finals with me when I won the WC back in 2009. I am fired up that he beat me this year in the whitewatergrandprix .
