Flat lays have become one of my favorite things to photograph during a wedding day. But what exactly is a flat lay, and why do you need to incorporate time in your timeline for your photographer to photograph it? A flat lay can be many things, but in the context of wedding photography, it is a curated flat lay of details from your wedding day, normally photographed from above. These details can include your invitation suite, your wedding rings, earrings, vow books, florals, antique items (dishes, ring boxes, etc.), and more! PRO TIP: Talk with your florist beforehand to have them set aside extra buds for your photographer to use in their flat lays!
