On November 7th 2018 Sgt. Ron Helus made the ultimate sacrifice when he heroically gave his life to save others at the Borderline Bar and Grill shooting in Thousand Oaks, CA. To honor Ron, Easton created the Sgt. Ron Helus Legacy Award to ensure that his legacy lives on in this community forever. Easton provides this award annually, with two deserving recipients selected by Karen Helus and the Ventura County Sheriffs Office. The kids chosen to receive this award represent the traits Ron portrayed everyday as a husband, father and sheriff.
