Meet your 2023 Commencement speakers 👋 🏅 Former Seattle Seahawk Doug Baldwin Jr. will speak at the undergraduate ceremony. Following a stellar professional football career, Baldwin is a business leader and a champion for social justice focused on issues of community well-being, veteran advocacy, criminal justice and equitable education. 🏅 The speaker at our graduate ceremony, Viet Thanh Nguyen, PhD, is an award-winning author and professor. Dr. Nguyen’s debut novel, “The Sympathizer,” which explores themes of caste, education, war, identity and loyalty, earned the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, among other accolades. He was also selected as a 2017 MacArthur Foundation Fellow. Both speakers will receive Honorary Doctorates from Seattle U. #SeattleUGrad
