It’s my orangetheory-versary! I started coming to otfedgewater one year ago. My Crohn’s disease was flaring badly at the time, and I couldn’t run outside anymore. But one day, I decided I’d use the little energy I had to take a class, knowing there were three (!!!) bathrooms in the studio. I was really weak, and couldn’t get through the treadmill portion of class without taking lots of walk breaks and a few bathroom breaks. But as the weeks went on, I started running a little more. Lifting a little heavier. Rowing a little faster. I still remember the day I ran for a full 24-minute treadmill block. I cried in my car after class, because I knew I was making my comeback. Eventually, my push pace became my base pace. I could hold a 12 MPH pace for 1 minute and 18 seconds. I ran a 5K PR despite very little outdoor running. I kept going to Orangetheory as I got healthier and stronger, and made some really good friends along the way. Now, at 22 weeks pregnant, I’m back to those walk breaks a...
