I woke up early this morning, put on my sarahmariedesignstudio Elite Marathoner shirt, and went to centralparknyc with grand plans to run in the sun with lauraannwalsh! I felt so good during last week’s
#Mini10K that I figured another run in the park would be groovy. But as soon as I got there, I kinda knew a run wasn’t going to happen. I tried a few times, but it just never felt GOOD. So instead, we walked. AND IT WAS AWESOME. We walked the full loop of the park and talked the whole time and I felt great and, best part, I never needed a bathroom break! At first I was discouraged — I had a plan, after all! And I love running! But the walk felt so good — like I was doing something FOR my body instead of beating it into the ground like I’ve done for so long. I have gone for so many runs I shouldn’t have. They say you never regret a workout, but I can think of many times I knew I should’ve rested but forced myself to run instead, for lots of different (stupid) reasons. All those years of ...
