In theory and in practice, running is just putting one foot in front of the other. But I’ve discovered so much power and pride in those steps.

There have been days when running feels easy and free. Then days where those simple steps feel insurmountable. Running has filled my heart, and it’s broken it. It’s helped me find myself, and it’s given me direction when I’ve lost myself. It’s been there through heartache and depression, triumph and celebration. It’s helped me see the world on two feet. It’s brought me the best friends I’ve ever known, and it’s how I met my husband. Running has helped me find my identity, and redefine it constantly. It’s brought me the biggest smiles, happiest hugs, and highest highs.
