I complain a lot about having Crohn's disease, but I'll give it some credit, because being unpredictably sick has taught me some valuable lessons over the years — chief among them that sometimes you just can't, and maybe shouldn't, try to plan life so much. I've been feeling so much better lately (yay yay yay!), and signed up to run this morning's
#NYRRGridiron race in Central Park — one of my favorite races! But my stomach was a mess last night, and when I woke up this morning I knew the race would be a no-go. In the past, I think pulling a DNS would've seriously bummed me out. But today, I feel fine with the call to get a little more R&R instead. My comeback race will have to wait a little longer, and I'll be continuing my "what I can, when I can, with Ellie as often as possible" method until then. And when I DO return to the races, you're all invited to the post-race party. Bring snacks. (And my stomach is fine. Just a little more rumbly than I'd like, but nothing concerning!) Happy...
