After getting up every hour last night to make a [painful and unpleasant] run for the bathroom, I woke up to an email from themattpowers with this photo attached. First I cried, because I can't even relate to the happy, smiley, sweaty runner girl in that photo right now. Then I forced myself to smile. Because if there's one thing running has taught me, it's that nothing can strip me of my runner title. Even though the only running I can do right now is to the bathroom. Even if I put my sneakers on every single morning in hopes of getting out the door, only to then have to take them off because my stomach won't let me out. Even if the only sweat I'm breaking is when I'm panicking about finding an open public restroom without a line or lock code. I don't have a beautiful way to wrap this up — just the confidence that I'll be back on the happy, smiley, sweaty run soon and that, in the meantime, there's a fun and exciting project coming your way today from womensrunningmagazine. Stay tuned...
