This past Monday night, Patrick Mahomes’ mom (Randi Mahomes) took to Twitter to voice her frustrations about the Monday Night Football broadcasting crew referring to her son as “Pat.” She tweeted “If this announcer doesn’t stop calling my son Pat.. ugh i may scream... lol.” The reason for the tweet is that Pat Mahomes is Patrick’s father. Pat is a former MLB pitcher.  He pitched for the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Pirates.  He, however, is not the quarterback for the Chiefs. I can relate to Patrick. My mother at times has voiced her frustrations when my name has been misspelled or mispronounced in a public setting. As Randi Mahomes later tweeted, “It’s a mom thing.” By the way I am a huge fan of Patrick Mahomes II and Lamar Jackson and look forward to them both having continued success in the NFL.
