I was about to quit. I had been lifting weights for about 10 years by the photo on the left. I was “having trouble” gaining weight. I figured, I’ll give this a hard push for a few months. If nothing happens, maybe this isn’t for me.

I had been told I couldn’t build muscle as a vegan. I began to doubt my own knowledge. I started to say “maybe my genetics just aren’t that good”. But I had failed to realized a few things. There’s more than just training hard. There is training smart and with progression and more emphasis on the negatives. There’s more to dieting than just macros, the quality and types of foods matter too. And eating the same or similar meals in order plays a role too. I hadn’t yet begun to implement intra workout nutrition. I also hadn’t hired a coach. No one single factor helped me grow from the left to to the right. If you’re feeling stuck, and like giving up, let this be a message to at least explore all the variables first. I thought I had done it all in 10 years. ...
