Why did I turn vegan? That’s a great question. And I have multi part answer.
Why did I START?
I had a friend (tstar_trex ) convince me that eating hamburgers was directly connected to killing cows. I decided to cut out most meat products. I still ate some fish and “allowed” myself Turkey at thanksgiving. That lasted not even a year. I couldn’t justify killing a Turkey or a fish if I couldn’t also bring myself to kill a cow, pig or chicken.
Why am I STILL vegan?
Mostly the same. I don’t feel the need to kill animals just to eat. There are larger reasons at stake though. Our planet cannot sustain a meat based diet. Meat consumption requires so much more water and land that we could not feed the earth’s population on a standard American diet (aka SAD diet).
Vegan for me is much more than just health. It’s about being the change I want to see in the world. And I’ll make that change with each meal I buy. Where you spend your money is a vote with your dollar. The strongest vote you contai...
