Welcome to our weekly feature ✨#HauntedHotSpot✨, where we take a deeper look at some of the most famous (and famously terrifying) sites in the world. This week’s pick: Villisca Ax Murder House Located in the small town of Villisca, this unassuming house was the site of one of the most gruesome crimes in Iowa history. In 1912, six members of the Moore family, as well as two overnight guests, were murdered in their sleep. To this day, the crime remains unsolved. Restored to its 1912 condition, the house is now open for daytime tours and even overnight stays by reservation. Visitors have reported a bedroom door opening and closing on its own, mysterious sensations of pinching and shoving, and unexplained cold chills. Investigate this iconic location with the #DeadFiles team on #discoveryplus at the #linkinbio. Use #HauntedHotSpot to tag us in a location you’d like us to dig into.
