On the night of June 11, 1962, three Alcatraz inmates — John Anglin, Clarence Anglin and Frank Morris — did the unthinkable and carried out one of the most audacious prison escapes in history. With no confirmed sightings of the men or their bodies, and many unanswered questions, the debate over whether the fugitives drowned in the frigid waters of the San Francisco Bay or made it to freedom, continues.⁠ ⁠ To this day there is an active warrant out for the arrests of the Anglins and Morris.
