Welcome to our weekly feature
#HauntedHotSpot, where we take a deeper look at some of the most famous (and famously terrifying) sites in the world.
This week’s pick: Villisca Axe Murder House
In the early morning hours of June 10, 1912, eight people — including six children — were discovered brutally slain in a small farmhouse in Villisca, Iowa. No one was ever convicted of the crime, and many are convinced the house is now haunted.
Visitors have experienced hearing unexplained voices, seeing objects move on their own and other bizarre activity. History buffs, true crime aficionados and paranormal enthusiasts can visit during daytime hours, or if you’re feeling brave, you can book an overnight tour.
