First up 👉 Winchester Mystery House 🔍🌴 Location: San Jose, California This bizarre and fascinating home was constructed under the careful eye of Sarah Winchester, heir to the Winchester fortune. The Winchester family amassed their wealth with the sale of firearms, including the 1894 Winchester Model rifle, also known as “the gun that won the West.” When her husband, William, died, Sarah became one of the wealthiest women in the world. Construction on the opulent mansion began in 1886, but never quite finished — at least until Sarah’s death in 1922 that is. (Yup, over 30 years of renovations! 🤭) Inside the mansion are 160 rooms, 10,000 windows, 47 stairways, 47 fireplaces, 13 bathrooms and 6 kitchens.
