Some moments in baseball are bigger than the game itself. Watching the home crowd rise to their feet every time #Ichiro came to the plate, hoping to witness history, and the enormous roar when he hits it off your own outfield scoreboard and trots in for a triple was nothing short of amazing. I remember playing wiffle ball or taking batting practice in the cages as a little leaguer and winding up my swing, basically running out of the box while swinging trying to do my best Ichiro impression. Fast forward a decade and a half and there I was, on the concourse, capturing his 3000th hit.
