#Luft6 is one of 12 original, werks 914/6 GTs. This car was entered in the 1970 Marathon de la Route by the Porsche factory. The endurance rally on the Nürburgring Nordschleife was called "The World's Longest Race" because it lasted 86 hours. That year the three team 914/6s swept to a 1-2-3 domination. The Luft 6 display car,
#2, was driven by Claude Ballot-Léna (F), Günter Steckkönig (D) and Nicolas Koob (L). They benefitted from Porsche’s tactic of only using two sets of hard tires over the entire distance to cut down service time. After 3.5 days of driving Porsche and the 914/6 GT had made their point.
