This car was entered in the 1970 Marathon de la Route by the Porsche factory. The endurance rally on the Nürburgring Nordschleife was called "The World's Longest Race" because it lasted 86 hours. That year the three team 914/6s swept to a 1-2-3 domination. The Luft 6 display car, #2, was driven by Claude Ballot-Léna (F), Günter Steckkönig (D) and Nicolas Koob (L).
