The winning design of the Lexus Design Award 2020 GrandPrix, "Open Source Communities", is an ambitious approach to solving inequality and resource shortages through design. Kenyan team, BellTower, imagined a new type of community anchored by a central water system that not only makes water easier to access, but allows residents to save money and even generate income from the collection of rainwater.
