Although Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month has come to a close, our goal is create awareness all year long. We will continue to spotlight individuals on their journey and the new perspectives and knowledge they have now versus when they were first injured. Next up is Jack Weeks. Though family and friends visited, Jack didn’t want to go anywhere. At Shepherd, everyone was living through a similar experience; people using wheelchairs was the norm, not the exception. In Maine, the teen felt self-conscious and hated being seen in his power wheelchair. “I feel different than when I was first injured,” he says. “I feel better physically and mentally. I don’t have a distinct answer why, it just happened.” Read more about Jack's story at the link in bio. #TodaysCare #SpinalCordInjuryAwarenessMonth #SpinalCordInjury #SpinalCordInjuryRecovery #Paralysis #Webinar #SCI #Wheelchair #SpinalCordInjuryAwareness #ReeveFoundation #SCIAwarenessMonth
