With just a few days left until the new year, we wanted to take a look back at Neuroscientist Murray Blackmore's #HopeHappensHere story from earlier this year. Murray Blackmore, a neuroscientist at marquetteu, has a goal to find a cure for spinal cord injuries. Blackmore’s motivation to find a cure is extremely personal and with funding from the Reeve Foundation, Blackmore believes axon regeneration in spinal cord injuries is a puzzle that can be solved. With 15 years of research, Blackmore is optimistic. “I feel like all the major pieces are in place, I think it's just a matter of time until we find that right cocktail,” Blackmore says.
