"What happened on January 4th, 2014 changed our lives forever. We would still be the proud parents of 4 children, except that our role would now have an added challenge of being a caregiver. During our son’s hockey game, he was checked from behind, crashing head first into the boards. We later learned he had broken his C5 vertebrae leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. Although our lives had dramatically changed, life goes on. With the help of the Reeves Foundation and other members of the spinal cord injury “family,” we have managed to face the daily challenges of caring for Michael as well as for our other 3 children.
