This year at the East Regional I injured my arm in the first event. After all of the work I had put in during the year it was devastating. thedavecastro came to see me in the medical tent and basically told me "Tough luck, we'll see you next year". It really pissed me off to be be wrote off so quickly like that. I fired me up. My goal for the weekend became to bust my ass so that at the end of the weekend I could look Dave in the eyes and shake his hand from a spot on the podium. In the end I earned my spot, but Dave had taken off to the Central Regional and it just wasn't quite as satisfying as it could have been for me. Amazingly, unexpectedly, weeks later at the end of the crossfitgames I got my chance as I found myself standing on the podium again in third place. This time I got my satisfaction. I showed you Dave.
