Researchers from SchmidtOcean took the video along the coast of Chile and identified the ethereal creature as a segmented gossamer worm (Tomopteris) ā a marine worm that spends its whole life in perpetual motion, without ever encountering the seafloor or sunlight.
Using their paddle-like parapodia, they ripple through the water column in a way that looks almost like dancing. šŗ
