Welles Crowther: “The Man in the Red Bandana”, was a Division 1 lacrosse player for Boston College. On September 11th, 2001 — Welles was working in the World Trade Center when United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the building. He faced the imminent danger and began leading survivors to the only working stairwell from the 78th floor. In his final hours, saving others was the mission. Welles was last seen heading back into the South Tower alongside members of the New York Fire Department. All while wearing a red bandana around his face to block out the smoke. Never forget.
