Sorry for the very sappy, very long post. If you guys only knew this kid. I had her last year and everyday was a struggle. She never had anything nice to say. She didn't care about anything. Her answer was always whatever and she never smiled. I was fairly sure that she hated me. I was shocked to see that she had signed up for my class this semester. I mean, she HATED me last year, why would she want to spend another semester with me? If you all could see the way she's grown. It's like she's a totally different person. She volunteers in class. She sets goals for herself. She advocates for others. She shares good news. She smiles when she turns the boardwalk to my class. And then I get this in my box today. "Ms. Herrera, you are not only are a beautiful person physically and mentally, you are also a person that inspires me on a day to day basis.
