📍 Stuart Collection Tour Stop #4 We're BACK with our tour of the Stuart Collection! Today we're featuring Fallen Star. Created by Do Ho Suh in 2012, Fallen Star (and his other work) explores the notions of home, cultural displacement, one’s perception of space and how one builds a memory of it. In Fallen Star, the house seems to have “landed” atop Jacobs Hall, where it sits crookedly on one corner. A lush roof garden outside the house is a small gathering place with panoramic views of the campus and beyond. Inside, the house is fully furnished, with a fireplace, collectibles, art, children’s drawings, a clock, a radio, a TV, and all the clutter one expects at home. Upon entering the house it becomes apparent that the floor and the house itself are at different angles, causing a sense of dislocation. The house can be viewed from a distance, from down below and from the inside of the building, and it is an iconic sight on the UC San Diego campus. Click the 🔗 link in our bio to disc...
