Happy National Library Week everyone. Idaho leadership really decided to show their true colors. In the wake of House Bill 710 passing, these are my thoughts as an Idahoan. I believe in the importance of diverse stories, and to be able to see representation of people and ideas vastly different from our own. I believe a community should be represented by many different types of people and lifestyles. EVEN IF THOSE IDEAS MAKE US UNCOMFORTABLE. I am honored to be alongside people who fight for the freedom to read. I am hopeful that we can change and grow. I will continue to support libraries and their amazing librarians that are under such vicious attack. And genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, I am ashamed of our leadership for this cowardice.
