The location for tonight’s portlandartgallery opening reception for Ann Sklar has been changed. The new location is: Maine Media Collective 16 Middle Street, 5th Floor Portland, Maine 04101 Last night there was a fire at Portland Art Gallery that originated in a back room utility closet. Thanks to the building’s fire suppression system and the efforts of first responders, the fire was quickly contained, and the gallery itself suffered no significant structural impacts. As a result, Portland Art Gallery is temporarily closed and will reopen as soon as possible. The cause of the fire appears to be electrical and is not suspicious. We are most thankful that there were no injuries and appreciate the swift efforts of the Portland Fire Department to contain and extinguish the fire.
