When Gov. Greg Abbott announced earlier this week his phased plan to reopen Texas, which began Friday, he said people are not prohibited from visiting parks, hunting, fishing or physical activity such as jogging or bicycling if social distancing is practiced. On Saturday, May 2, park-goers were seen in places like Commons Ford Ranch and areas near Bull Creek gathering in large groups. Park rangers and Austin police officers have had to increase their patrolling of parks to break up crowds especially after a Thursday incident where an Austin park ranger was shoved off a dock into water at Commons Fords Metropolitan Park after telling a gathering of people to stay 6-feet a part. New statewide rules that supersede local ones encourage the use of face masks but do not require them. But Gov.
