Big Bend National Park’s expanse can quickly seem dwarfed when the burning Texas sun dips below the horizon and the galaxy known as the Milky Way swallows the national park’s 1,252 square miles, a swath of land larger than the state of Rhode Island. The park, which is celebrating its 75th birthday this year, boasts one of the darkest skies in the lower 48 states. WagsPhoto shot this starscape while camping in the Chisos Basin in the wee hours of Monday, August 5, 2019.
