The perils of saving lives almost took its toll on Travis County ESD1 firefighters Lt. Brannon Stengel and Jessilyn Davis. Fighting a large grass fire last week near Jonestown, TX they became trapped as flames whipped around them. Through the help of the Star Flight rescue helicopter and other firefighters on the ground they made it out safely. Alive and well they’ll have to buy steaks and ice cream for receiving media publicity.
