Had the good fortune to visit with a John “Fritz” Zavala as he recovers from a motorcycle accident last December when he was struck by another driver who turned in front of him. He lost his leg, broke the other and is rehabbing back to good health. He credits two Buda, TX police officers Josh Albarez and Sherwal Foulstone (one of the all-time greatest names) with their first aid procedures in saving his life. The officers carry tourniquet kits on their belts. He does more in one day than most of us combined. These are the people who touch my life and make me a better person. Of course when you thank the officers they are so humble and refuse all credit. But we know.
