Austin Fire Department personnel respond to a home fire in the 1500 block of Sahara Avenue on Thusrday, February 25, 2016. A woman escaped her burning South Austin home while still in a towel, after being alerted to the smoke while showering, and firefighters rescued and resuscitated her Chihuahua. The dog later died as a result of the injuries. Fire damages are estimated at 175K structure and 75K contents. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
