With recent headlines branding London a “ghost town” as more families with young children are choosing to leave the capital, the devastating impact of Sadiq Khan’s myopic, poorly executed policies has been laid bare by recent research by London Councils. The rising cost-of-living, including escalating rents, alongside the current Mayor’s ULEZ stealth tax, have forced many parents to move out of the city, with others choosing to relocate in the face of a crime rate which has spiralled out of control. With 8,000 fewer children forecast to need school places in the next four years, it is unsurprising that many have decided to leave what should be one of the most attractive places in the world to live in. And it’s why I’m standing to be the next Mayor of London. I believe that our city should be a prosperous, affordable place to work and to live.
