#WomensHistoryMonth: Nikea Gamby-Turner has starred in several stage plays and award-winning sketch groups. She has also worked with several primetime television shows, including Abbott Elementary, where she can currently be seen as Shanae, Mildred Lindsey in Dahmer, and most recently made a surprise reveal starring in a Super Bowl LVII commercial. Raised in Los Angeles, Gamby-Turner dreamed of becoming an entertainer from her early memories of participating in modeling opportunities and gospel musicals at church. The daughter of a single mother raising two children, Gamby-Turner found identity and peace through performance and vowed to water her passion consistently. While an undergraduate mass communication major at JSU, she discovered the world of drama. She went on to star in several school plays and hosted her own show on the local television channel, W23BC titled “Entertainment Spotlight” where she would interview celebrities visiting Jackson area.
