In 1981, Dan O'Connell ran midfield in Villanova's inaugural varsity season, scoring 4 points. Yesterday, his son, Danny O'Connell, scored a goal in our program's 500th varsity game. Afterwards, Danny shook hands with teammate Johnny Gallaway, whose dad was also on the inaugural varsity team.
