86 years ago, The Hollywood Brown Derby opened on Valentine's Day 1929. Owner Bob Cobb is credited for creating the Cobb Salad, originally made with "leftovers" for theater owner Sid Grauman. It was a great Hollywood hotspot for many years. Clark Gable even proposed to Carole Lombard there. It was largely destroyed by a fire in 1987.
