Pico de Gallo is a classic salsa that my children love to help me make. Krogerco is my go-to grocery store for fresh produce and affordable products! In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, I wanted to showcase a classic recipe that represents the colors of the Mexican flag. This salsa is also called salsa bandera (flag) because it has the three colors of the Mexican flag: green, white, and red. A key part of Hispanic Heritage is culture and food being passed down by the generations. This salsa is an easy recipe I know my children love and can make on their own. Ok, maybe not the serranos or jalapeños...mama bear chops those spicy babies! When you have fresh pico de gallo, not only is it a great dipping salsa with tortilla chips, but it is the basis for so many other dishes that you can find on my blog.
