Never in a million years could I have predicted I’d be cooking and sharing the recipes I grew up eating. As a matter of fact — I truly did not want anything to do with cooking. I didn’t want to be “stuck in the kitchen”. That’s how I always saw my grandma and my mom — always en la cocina. When I became a mother, I realized the meals I made, were made con mucho amor just like all the meals I ate as a child made by my grandma and mom. Now, I can’t imagine my life outside la cocina. No one ever thought to make a living at [food] in those days. The thought never entered my mind.
