Basketball fans know that UCLA is the place to be in August. While the runs that occur at UCLA have never been a secret, they’re one of few in the country where on any given day you can see the likes of Steph Curry and Trae Young sharing a backcourt while matching up against a team led by Pascal Siakam and Fred Van Vleet or Paul George and John Wall. It’s hard to describe the amount of talent that has rolled through the Gym over the years. It can’t be matched anywhere else in the country. As an LA native who played basketball professionally overseas for 10 years, this was my first summer having the privilege to get up a different kind of shot during the summer at UCLA.
