On Monday in Downtown Los Angeles, Black Lives Matter-L.A., The ACLU of Southern California, community members, and families affected by Los Angeles Sheriff’s department violence gathered outside of the Hall of Justice, demanding that the L.A. County Board of Supervisors create a way to remove an elected sheriff from office. In hopes of achieving more accountability and transparency from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s department the groups are asking for three things. 1. “Creating a procedure to allow impeachment and removal of the sheriff by a four-fifths vote of the Board for serious violations of the public trust, including serious crimes, unconstitutional conduct, and abuse of power.” 2.
