“If your version of feminism starts and stops at abortion rights and the gender / pay gap between white men and white women then that is not feminism. That is white feminism. If your conversation around feminism doesn’t include names like Sandra Bland, Breonna Taylor, Atatiana Jefferson, if you’re not talking about the medical kidnapping being done to Black women who are having their newborns snatched from them, if you’re not talking about Black women giving birth in jail cells while chained, then you are not a true feminist. If you are not concerned with the rights of Palestinian women, or Haitian women seeking refuge on American soil, then you are not a feminist, you are just a white feminist. Do not only show up for issues that affect white women - show up for issues that affect all women. Show up when Black Trans women are being murdered and their life expectancy is 35.
