Divest, dismantle, deconstruct. The call to defund the police doesn’t mean zero police, it doesn’t equal a lawless country. It just means taking billions out of the billion dollar budgets and giving that money back to the people. Not in literal cash payments but via social services for mental health, domestic violence and homelessness, among other things. It’s 2020 we’ve gotta do better. PS.
