Juneteenth is a celebration of this date in 1865 when all African-Americans had finally been notified of the abolition of slavery in the United States of America.
But today's world starkly reminds us that while enslavement formally ended more than a century-and-a-half ago, Black Americans still face inequality, inequity and injustice at interpersonal, structural and systemic levels on a daily basis.
