#thevintagefashionchallenge DAY 4: FIXER UPPERS. - - - Let me tell ya about my favorite sweater. It may just be a simple red sweater with a zipper, but I get more compliments each time I wear it. When I bought it...for less than $5...it had so many holes in the bust and a zipper that wouldn't zipper. I carefully stuck this floral patch on it, and tada...good as new. I would say that almost every piece that I have ever purchased has been a fixer upper. I seek out the fixer uppers. I've been sewing since around the age of 4. My grandmother is a seamstress. I've been taking apart and rebuilding dresses for as long as I can remember. It is ingrained in my DNA. My mom made dresses and matching outfits for us growing up. I should have photographed my entire closet. I have about 20 pieces that I am currently working on. The advantage of being able to fix problems that other people deem as trash is that you can get more, buy it for less, and cherish it more. I look at vintage clothing restorat...
